Meeting with Chief PMG- gist of discussions held

Our President Sri. Venunathan Pillai and our former CS Sri. Ajith Kurian met Chief PMG Sri. M.S.Ramanujan at his chamber on 31.12.14 and discussed various issues related to our members: At the outset, Chief conveyed new year greetings to all our members and expressed hope that all the officers in IP/ASP cadre will rise up to their potential and show results in the three months ahead of us.

As regards the 8 PM posts where ASPs are currently working, Chief PMG assured that no hasty decision will be taken to move out ASPs working in these posts as done in TN and status quo will be maintained till specific directions are received from Directorate in this regard. Regarding reimbursement of mobile/telephone charges to IPs/ASPs, Chief agreed to issue an order wherein an uniform amount will be given throughout the Circle. The details will be worked out by DPS (HQ) on receipt of a representation from the Association. Instances of some of our members getting charge sheeted on flimsy ground was also brought to the notice of the Chief PMG. He made it clear that issuing charge sheets to IPs/ASPs was not certainly his line of functioning and he does not encourage such actions. In cases where charge sheets have been issued, he assured to look into the cases sympathetically.

On a concluding note, Chief wanted to convey the message to all our members to rise to our potential and work hard in the three remaining months to achieve the targets allotted to us. He stressed the point that apart from our routine job of inspections we must have a developmental agenda with the aim of achieving our targets which can only push our Department forward. He also pointed to the need of working smart with our technological aids like laptops which can bring about more results. The  meeting ended on a positive note with the Association assuring all support to the administration in achieving the BD and other targets allotted to the Circle this year.
